LRG "Life colors" - Autumn 2012
"Life colors Lrg" is the most recent campaign that has caught my eye. The video features pro snowboarders, skateboarders, music producers and even Waka Flocka Flame. Nice composition of colours, quality images and a showcase of amazing skills. The advert is very chilled and inspiring...the main idea behind it is to show individuals that the way we try to achieve our goals and fulfill our dreams and the way the world is full of conflicts and struggles is just the way of living. |

Etnies "It's just skateboarding" - Summer 2010
Featuring Ryan Sheckler, Sean Malto and Mikey Taylor Etnies "it's only skateboarding" ad is a fun and playful way for Etnies to represent their brand. This only 30 second video with actually little skateboarding shows that skateboarders just want to have a good time, play with what surrounds them and "just skateboard". This ad is a heart warmer. |

Element "Claim it!" - Summer 2009
Beautiful multi-media channel campaign from Element. In 2009 they started a channel where skateboarders could claim a spot by doing best trick over it. They could record themselves and google tag the spot owned. Then stickers were given out so skaters could claim their spot and dare to out run each other. In the end best videos and claimed spots won prizes. Fun and clever brand involvement with the target market on Element's behalf. |

Nike "Skateboarding is not a crime" - Summer 2006
The campaign features three adverts with runners, tennis and golf players. Each advert showcases those sports as illegal. Players are told off by the police and are even given tickets. The members of the public are very negative towards them and share aggressive attitude towards those sports. The video ends with "What if we treated all athletes they way we treat skateboarders" with end slogan "Skateboarding is not a crime". This campaign was banned from UK for transparency, however I think it's a clever approach to bring up an issue of skateboarders being rejected by the society.

Droors Clothing - 1994
Known as DC today, Droors clothing 90's campaign had a number of creative ads. My favorite Rob Dyrdek getting doused in the blue paint, also Danny Way mocking Calvin Klein and Ronnie Dertino smoking a pack of cigarettes in one go. I think Dyrdek was the most famous one. 90' skate ads had this rebelious attitude.. anything against society and high fashion brands. DC's innovative approach stayed memorable till today. |
