X Games 18, 2012 Los Angeles
The Skateboard Big Air competition proved a highlight, as it brought in two 11-year old competitors alongside 12-year old Tom Schaar, who made history as the first skater to land a 1080 in competition. Bob Burnquist scored an impressive 94.33, and managed his fourth gold medal of the seven X Games Big Air contests. Holding it down for Skateboard Park Finals was Pedro Barros, who reigned over the competition with huge airs and a score of 84.00. Pierre-Luc Gagon and Bucky Lasek went head-to-head for the Skate Vert gold, both notching runs for the same score of 91.00. After a tie-breaker- the average of the five judges’ scores on the athletes’ best runs-it was PLG taking the top spot. P-Rod took the first place in the X Games Skate Street beating Sheckler and Huston.
